Cycle 3 complete
(from left to right) Peggy, Nancy, Mary, Glenn, Jerry, and Chris
Dad officially wrapped up Cycle 3 of treatment last week. As always, we’re taking the wins where we can get them, and crossing another cycle off the list definitely feels like one.
Next week is technically his “off week,” although there won’t be much slowing down. He’ll be getting a PET scan, which is always a big milestone in the process and something we’re going into with a lot of hope and patience. The good news is, that he’s able to do this locally here in Waterloo, which makes the logistics at least a little easier. We love Iowa City, but man it feels good to not have to make that trip for these quicker appointments!
More good stuff: Dad’s appetite has been good, he’s gained some weight, and honestly, in the world of treatment, we’re counting that as a major victory. He also got to spend time with several of his siblings this week celebrating his sister Peggy’s birthday over brunch, Good food, family, and a reason to dust the hot rod off and go for a cruise. We’ll take it!
As always, thank you for the prayers, messages, check-ins, meals, and support. We’re continuing to take this one appointment, one treatment cycle, and one slightly anxiety-fueled Google search (on my part) at a time.
