For the first time in a while, it feels like we maybe caught our breath a little.

Today was supposed to be Dad’s second round of treatment in Waterloo, but things didn’t quite go as planned.

We’ve had a few important updates over the last week, and overall, we’re feeling encouraged by the direction things are heading.

Today was another trip down to Iowa City — this time for Dad’s second round of chemo.

Today was a big day for Dad—he officially received his first round of chemotherapy and immunotherapy.

Yesterday didn’t go the way we expected. My dad, his sister Mary, and I traveled to Iowa City ready for his first round of chemo and immunotherapy.

We had our first oncology appointment today with Dr. Kroll and Dr. Maciel at the University of Iowa, and it gave us a much clearer picture of what Dad is facing and what comes next.

For anyone who might be new to what’s been going on, this all started with a few hospital visits and tests over the past couple of months as we tried to figure out what was causing some of Dad’s symptoms.
